Fife Arabic Society

Recent and Upcoming Events

On this page we'll describe some of the interesting and fun activities our organisation is running.

In 2007 the Fife Arabic Society (FAS) undertook the daunting task of surveying the Arab community in Fife to develop a comprehensive picture of the size and scope of the community and their needs.

Following on from the success of this Mapping Exercise FAS is holding an event to Launch the Report taken from the findings of the Exercise.

Annual Cultural Event 2007

The FAS hosted a multicultural event which was attended by approx. 300 guests; including guests from Fife Constabulary, Fife Council, FRAE Fife REP and the Scottish Executive. It provided an informative look into the lives of the Arab Society in Britain.
Individuals from Dundee, Fife, Edinbrugh and Stirling gathered to listen to invited guests, including the esteemed Marylin Livingston MSP, and also the children of the FAS who presented a play called 'I am a Traveller.' They took everyone on a journey of discovery across some of the Arab countries, and entertained them with their 'musical stylings.' We also had music from 2 musicians who played the fiddle, flute and even Scottish bagpipes!!!
All in all it was a fantastic event that celebrated not only the many accomplishments of the FAS but also the vast Arab culture and society in Britain.
We wish to thank not only everyone who attended the event, but all our speakers and everyone who worked hard either behind the scenes or helped with the technical support on the night.
