YMCA & FRAE Fife. Six of FAS women successfully

completed the course

* Barbecues and other social gathering

* Sewing classes for women

* Childrens and Mens football teams. They take part in

various Fife tournaments

* Ramadan gatherings for Iftar

* Eid gatherings

* Cultural Event in 2007 which was attended by over 250

persons




Fife Arabic Society successfully organised race awareness and culture event on the 21st May 2005. This event was attended by over 220 guest from ethnic minority community groups, voluntary/statuary sector, local authority, colleges and interested individuals.

It was an excellant opportunity for our organisation and members to inform attendance about our culture and activities, also a platform for us and other ethnic minority groups to raise issues of race equality, communities needs and concern.

On 20th September 2005 Fife Arabic Society in partnership with FRAE Fife Race Equality Partnership (REP), Fife Constabulary and Adam Amith college organised a successful event "Building Bridges" in which Fife Arabic Society members consulted directly with the major service providers in Fife and Marilyn Livingstone (MSP).



On 24th September Fife Arabic Society organised two focus groups for the General Office for Scotland "GROS", as a result of this consultation and others, it is now recognised that Arabic id Ethnic group and is listed in the register as recommendation for the next Scottish censes (2011). Fife Arabic Society is taking the lead on Scottish level to correct the imbalance of recognition and resources. Allocation of funding and resources should be in line with the Arabic community size as the third largest community in Scotland.



On 19th December 2005 Fife Arabic Society in partnership with Black Ethnic Minorty Infrastructer in Scotland (BMIS) organised a consultation event for Communities Minister Malcolm Chisholm (MSP) with the youth community groups in Fife.



On 14th January 2006 Fife Arabic Society with a support of Fife Community Partnership held Fife Integration trophy (F.I.T), a very successful sport event that was enjoyed by over 130 people and many teams from Fife Community Safety partnership and community groups.



Between February and April 2006 Fife Arabic Society actively participated in World Art in Fife; a multicultural art exhibition at Kirkcaldy Art Gallery. This event was organised in partnership between FRAE Fife Race Equality Partnership, Fife Council and the Ethnic Minority community groups in Fife.



May 2005 a group of Fife Arabic Society women visited the Scottish Parliament; this visit was organised by Marilyn Livingstone (MSP).



May 2006 Fife Arabic Society organised a consultation with NHS Scotland Diversity project.



May 2006 Fife Arabic Society held the Annual General Meeting with active participation from memebers. A new management committee was elected.



June 2006 a day out to Lochore Meadows in Lochgelly. This popular event was attended by over 120 of members and friends; people enjoyed many activities, such as aport, rowing boats, barbecue and others.



On October 2006 during the month of Ramadan Fife Arabic Society organised four social gatherings (Iftar).



On the 29th October 2006 Fife Arabic Society held a Sport event at Buckhaven Community Centre. Teams from range of community groups and voluntary organisation joined in a friendly competition (Volly Ball, Football, Table Tennis). This event was sponsered by Sport Relief Grant - Scottish Community Foundation.
